Our client is looking for a data engineer to support the development of their data platform. This company provides collective agreement insurance and occupational pensions for privately owned companies and their employees. They are undergoing a technical transformation, and you will be able to play a key role in this evolution. The data platform is still young and therefore there are plenty of opportunities to put your mark on it.

About the job
As a data engineer, you will develop and maintain the data platform, establish connections to the underlying data sources it reads from, and manage the integrations that rely on data from the platform (such as APIs or data sharing). The position also assists solution users in specifying requirements, testing, and using it productively. This role includes designing, supporting, and providing guidance for the upgrade, management, activation, and archiving of data by their strategies and policies. The position also involves designing new solutions and further developing the sustainability of the existing solution. The role is a crucial component for both daily operational activities and strategic development.


Who are you?
We seek individuals with an educational background focused on data and/or a genuine passion for the data field and the world of data. If you have studied a program that clearly emphasizes data or are interested in this dynamic domain, we would love to hear from you.

• Develop data models, data flows, and integrations to and from the data platform
• Monitor built-in pipelines and handle failed pipelines to identify sources of error and poor data quality
• Monitor the performance of various components in the platform
• Maintain data models and their documentation
• Maintain integrations
• Improve pipeline performance by refactoring code, optimizing data model design or introducing streaming solutions

Qualifications
• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Good python skills
• Thrive in collaborative environments.
• Great communications skills
• Curious and a flexible mindset
• Experience using git
• Knowledge in SQL
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbal and written

Nice to have
• Hobby projects within the field of data
• Work experience in the field of data
• Familiarity with pyspark
• Basic comfort with using the command line
• Prior experience with services like Databricks, Fabric, Snowflake or Synapse
